The Cobb County School District has announced that there will be no classes on Tuesday due to the extreme cold weather sweeping through the metro Atlanta area.
Cobb teachers and staff will have a delayed arrival time of 10 a.m. Tuesday. All sports and after-school activities also are cancelled Tuesday.
Marietta City Schools were to have returned to classes Monday but those were cancelled. Late Monday, the district announced that there would be no classes on Tuesday but that staff and teachers should report by 10 a.m.
Tuesday was to be the first day of classes in the new winter semester in Cobb.
The Cobb Board of Education will be holding its previously scheduled meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday to elect new officers and set the 2014 board meeting schedule.
Tuesday's meeting takes place in the board room of the CCSD central office, 514 Glover Street, Marietta.
