Man Wanted in East Cobb Theft

A woman gave Hubert Cecil Hawkins her 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle "for the purpose of driving it to her new address." That was Oct. 14, 2012.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Northeast Cobb man who allegedly stole a $15,000 motorcycle from a home in the 2400 block of Little John Trail.

A woman gave Hubert Cecil Hawkins her 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle "for the purpose of driving it to her new address," according to a Cobb County arrest warrant.

That was Oct. 14, 2012.

"Accused later told said victim that the motorcycle had been stolen from said accused," according to the warrant.

Fast forward to May 20.

"Upon further investigation," according to the warrant, "accused still had possession of said motorcycle ... and would not return it."

Hawkins, who lives in the 1900 block of Addison Road, faces a charge of theft by taking, according to the warrant, which was issued on Thursday.
