The Cook's Warehouse in East Cobb is having an allergen-free cooking class next week for those who need help with food allergies. The class, which features Chef Steven Satterfield, takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $45 per person. The Cook's Warehouse, located at 1311 Johnson Ferry Road, is the official cooking school for Walk for Food Allergy Atlanta. Proceeds from the class go directly to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) to fund research, education and advocacy programs related to food allergies. Just before the holiday season gets started, a number of church craft fairs will be going on this weekend in East Cobb to get you in the mood. The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Craft Fair runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, located at 1770 Johnson Ferry Road. The Fall 2011 class schedule has been released by The Cook's Warehouse with its usual depth of cuisine and subject matter. From “Knife Skills 101 Hands On” to advanced, hands-on classes with local chefs, there are more than 150 classes to pick from and one for every age level and interest in this quarter’s classes. Another major retailer held its grand opening ceremonies Thursday at the Merchant's Walk Shopping Center.
The Cook's Warehouse on Thursday opened its fourth store located in the newly renovated Merchants Walk shopping center. “East Cobb has been the most-requested store location since the day I opened The Cook’s Warehouse in 1995," said Mary Moore, founder and owner.
