Nelah Gabler, The Art Place coordinator, narrates this five-minute promotional tour of all that the facility has to offer. This month's Bring Your Own Dinner show runs from tonight through Saturday.
Larry Shue’s theatre performance of "The Nerd" will be held March 21-23 at 8 p.m. at The Art Place. An aspiring young architect in Terre Haute, Indiana, Willum Cubbert has often told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met but who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam. He has written to Rick to say that, as long as he is alive, "you will have somebody on Earth who will do anything for you" so Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment on the night of his thirty-fourth birthday party. But his delight soon fades as it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless nerd. Rick stays on and on, and his continued presence among Willum and his friends leads …

Spring has barely sprung but The Art Place has opened registration for summer camp art lessons. Registration began Wednesday, and this summer's camp titles include the following: The above link has more detailed information about each camp, including session dates, times and fees. Cobb County Government has posted a part-time position for a recreation leader at The Art Place-Mountain View. The position is general in nature and involves work up to 29 hours a week. Registration is underway now at two locations in East Cobb offering Musik to Grow classes that nurture musical talents and aspirations in children. Spring classes begin later this month at The Art Place Mountain View and the Draisen Edwards Music Center, with both lasting through mid-May. Gardeners know the right time to plant seeds -- not too early before the possibility of frost and not too late when the sun is too hot.
