A passenger is in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident at Johnson Ferry Road and Woodlawn Drive on Friday.
A Marietta man is in critical condition after the car in which he was riding slammed into a utility pole in a two-vehicle accident Friday at the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Woodlawn Drive. Kyle Lysaght, 22, was airlifted by Life Flight helicopter to the Atlanta Medical Center, according to Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce. Police said Lysaght was a frontseat passenger in a gray 2007 Lexus heading southbound on Johnson Ferry shortly before 5 p.m. Friday. As the vehicle approached the intersection, it was struck by a white 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck turning left onto Woodlawn from northbound Johnson Ferry. An East Cobb woman crossing Roswell Road Wednesday night was killed after being struck by a car. Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said in a release that Maria D. Roxo, 79, was pronounced dead after being rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He said that Roxo, for reasons unknown, entered Roswell Road on foot shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday and was hit by a white Nissan 300 ZX driven by a 25-year-old Marietta woman, who was traveling eastbound on Roswell east of Old Canton Road. Pierce said charges are not expected to be filed in the case, but that anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Cobb Police at 770-499-3987.

Two Atlanta television stations are reporting that a three-vehicle accident on Holly Springs Road in East Cobb involved children. Both 11 Alive and Fox 5 said a head-on collision occurred around 5 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Holly Springs Road and Porter Lane. Fox 5 said police indicated there were at least four injuries, including children, but had no more details. Porter Lane connects Holly Springs Road and Old Canton Road. An unidentified teen driver has been airlifted to an Atlanta hospital with head trauma after a car accident in East Cobb on Monday morning. According to The Marietta Daily Journal, the victim, whose age may be 17, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with injuries suffered in a one-car crash shortly before 7 a.m. The young male driver was traveling eastbound on Lower Roswell Road near the Chattahoochee River when his 2008 Mazda failed to make the turn where Lower Roswell forks into Timber Ridge and Willeo roads (see attached map). The Mazda ran off the road and crashed into a tree, according to the MDJ report. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported earlier Monday that the driver left the vehicle and was discovered by a nearby bridge.
