A longtime employee of the Cobb County School District has been arrested on charges that he produced and received child pornography. According to multiple reports, Stanley Keith Johnson, a transportation field coordinator with the school district, was charged by federal officials on Tuesday. Johnson, who lives in Mableton, was scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate Friday morning. CBS Atlanta cited "a law enforcement source" that the case involves a boy, possibly eight or nine years old. CCSD spokesman Jay Dillon told The Marietta Daily Journal that Johnson, who has been employed by the district since 1989, will be terminated, and that his arrest "has nothing to do with the district or his job with the district."
Andrew Sutton also will be on supervised release for 10 years after leaving prison.

A Marietta-area lawyer faces a federal child-pornography case, the FBI announced Friday. Eric Peterson, 37, was arrested at his Cobb County home Wednesday on a federal complaint charging him with possession or receipt of child pornography, said Brian Lamkin, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Atlanta field office. Peterson appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerrilyn Brill in Atlanta on Thursday and was released on bond, the FBI said. The Georgia Bar Association lists one lawyer named Eric Peterson with a Marietta mailing address, a 37-year-old real estate lawyer who lives in East Cobb, although that directory covers only practicing lawyers.
