Don't be alarmed today if you hear or smell something near the pipeline today.
Atlanta Gas Light's pipeline work could spread an odor and some noise this morning, but it's nothing to worry about. The company is purging a 24-inch pipeline from Powers Ferry Road at Interstate 285 to Willeo Road near the Chattahoochee River, The Marietta Daily Journal reported. The work could produce a loud roar and the smell of gas along the line, including Johnson Ferry Road at the river and at Lower Roswell Road, but there's no danger, an AGL spokesman told the MDJ. The purge is connected to the work disrupting traffic at Johnson Ferry and Lower Roswell roads for the next week or so.
