On Monday Patch published an article about the response of Cobb school officials to the Connecticut school shootings. The following is a statement issued by Cobb County School District Superintendent Michael Hinojosa about the same topic. Dear Cobb County Schools Community, We all are in shock and disbelief at the tragic event that occurred last Friday and our hearts pour out to the community of Newtown, Connecticut. As a result of this terrible, senseless act, many concerns about safety have carried over to our own community. i saw a video of one of the elementary schools in the Atlanta area where they had balloons in the entry way. I think that was a great idea. I don't have little kids, but I know it had to be very difficult letting your child leave this morning. The couple next door has four children, aged 6 to 15, and they have a yard full of Christmas decorations which he lights up and blows up at 4:30 every day…   more ›
