Marietta Police said the suspect took cash from the register of the Delk Road location Thursday.

A Delk Road motel was robbed earlier this week and Marietta Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect. Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin said in a release issued Sunday morning that a man held up the Motel 6 Northwest Marietta, 2360 Delk Road, around 10 a.m. Thursday. The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall and between 170-180 pounds. He has low cut hair and was wearing rimmed prescription glasses, according to Baldwin. Gravitt Rescue Fund Exceeds $8K

The money raised to care for a dog injured on I-75 has paid for his surgical bills.

The Marietta woman who helped rescue a dog hit by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 75 asked for public donations to help pay for his recovery.  Patch talked to Dana Wachsmann in April about her fundraising efforts for Gravitt, a likely stray who was named after the Marietta Police officer who rushed the animal to emergency veterinary care.  Several operations, including surgery to reattach the dog's pelvis to its spine, came to an estimated $7,500. Wachsmann contacted Patch this week to report that more than $8,000 in donations has been received for Gravitt's medical care. She also said that Marietta resident Deann Seckinger and her family, which took in the dog on a temporary basis, will be giving Gravitt a permanent home and assuming …

Foam Parties: Far from Good Clean Fun

Look out for teen parties popping up across the area.

Parents, beware of foam parties that are bubbling up across the area. The Marietta Police Department is warning of these popular, if not dangerous, parties that are luring teens in. A party full of soap must be good clean fun, right? Not exactly. Foam parties are held in business establishments, usually nightclubs, and include massive amounts of bubbles and foam for teens to splash in. These parties can lead to violence, underage drinking and lewd sexual acts, according to a press release. "Advertisements for teen parties will encourage all girls to wear bathing suits or minimal clothing regardless of their age," the release stated. "Lewd and vulgar sexual acts involving teens and sometimes adults occur overtly and publicly within teen …
