Hallacy Is East Cobb Citizen of the Year

The Cobb Chamber's East Area Council honored the longtime civic and education activist Wednesday.

The Cobb Chamber of Commerce named Karen Hallacy the 2012 East Cobb Citizen of the Year at the East Cobb Area Council breakfast meeting at Indian Hills Country Club on Wednesday, Nov. 14.  Hallacy has been a tireless volunteer and resident in the East Cobb community since her children started school in the area more than 10 years ago. A parent in the Walton High School district, she is known in the community as an advocate for local students and public education. Hallacy was nominated by former Cobb Commission Chairman and current Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens for her passion for helping the community through her involvement, especially in the Parent Teacher Association at the local, council and state levels. “Karen Hallacy is someone…
