Kristofak Pleads Guilty to Murder

He will spend the rest of his life in prison for the killing of his former wife in December.

Just days before his son's high school graduation, an Acworth man accused of killing his wife at her East Cobb home pleaded guilty to the crime. John Steven Kristofak, 58, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison for the December 2012 murder of Donna Kristofak, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. It was the couple's youngest son who heard his mother's scream, ran outside and saw his father drive away from the scene on Tall Pine Drive, according to the MDJ. Harrison Kristofak, now 18, was also the person who called 911. When police arrived at the home around noon Dec. 22, 48-year-old Donna Kristofak was unresponsive. Suspect in East Cobb Murder Gets 10 Years in Stalking Case

The judge who allowed John Steven Kristofak to be released in October on probation handed down a different sentence today.

An Acworth man indicted last month in the December 2012 murder of his ex-wife at her East Cobb home was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for violating the terms of his probation in a prior aggravated stalking case. Cobb Superior Court Chief Judge Adele Grubbs, who sentenced John Steven Kristofak to probation in October after he pleaded guilty in the earlier aggravated stalking and family violence simple battery case involving Donna Kristofak, revoked that probation today, according to the Marietta Daily Journal and theAtlanta Journal-Constitution. Ex-Husband Indicted on Multiple Charges in Death of East Cobb Woman

If John Steven Kristofak is convicted of all charges, he could face a maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 40 years.

A Cobb County grand jury has indicted an Acworth man in the December 2012 murder of his ex-wife at her East Cobb home. John Steven Kristofak was indicted Thursday on murder and other charges, Kim Isaza, the spokeswoman for District Attorney Vic Reynolds, said this afternoon. Donna Kristofak, 48, was found unresponsive when police arrived at her home on Tall Pine Drive near Walton High School around noon Dec. 22, 2012. She later died at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. A murder warrant obtained by East Cobb Patch said she was stabbed once in the upper torso during a confrontation in the garage. Kristofak Charged with Pharmacy Robbery

He is accused of stealing prescription drugs the day before his arrest for killing his ex-wife in East Cobb.

John Kristofak, who is being held without bond for his ex-wife's murder in East Cobb before Christmas, is facing additional felony charges. Fayetteville Police say Kristofak stole prescription drugs from a pharmacy while a manhunt was underway for his arrest, according to multiple news reports Thursday afternoon. Kristofak, 59, is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center for the murder of Donna Kristofak, who was stabbed Dec. 22 in the garage of her home near Walton High School and later died at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Donna Kristofak Feared for Her Life

The AJC has reported that the murdered East Cobb woman begged a judge not to free her ex-husband from jail in October.

Donna Kristofak's worst fears were realized in a Cobb County courtroom in October as a judge was deciding whether to release her ex-husband from jail for stalking her. They were the fears that John Kristofak would kill her. According to a report in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the East Cobb woman begged Cobb Superior Court Judge Adele Grubbs not to free him for time served as part of a five-year sentence, with the remainder to be served on probation. John Kristofak had been jailed since March for aggravated stalking. Several days prior to his arrest, he allegedly sent Donna Kristofak several threatening e-mails, including chilling promises that he would kill her. Kristofak Arrested in Union City

The East Cobb murder suspect was apprehended early Thursday morning at a Motel 6.

John Kristofak, wanted for the murder of his ex-wife at her East Cobb home, was arrested early Thursday morning. The Cobb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force took him into custody, according to the Cobb Police Department, which issued a statement at 8:30 this morning.  Kristofak, 58, is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, charged with murder and aggravated assault. Various media reports indicated earlier Thursday morning that Kristofak was arrested after "a brief struggle" with law enforcement at a Union City Motel 6, and that a gun was found in his room. Kristofak Allegedly Makes Suicide Threat

The East Cobb murder suspect reportedly tells The Marietta Daily Journal he will "burn in hell" for the death of his ex-wife.

The East Cobb man being sought for the murder of his ex-wife apparently has told The Marietta Daily Journal he won't be found alive. The newspaper reported Wednesday that it has received an e-mail it believes came from from John Kristofak saying that by "the time you get this (I) will be dead." The MDJ said it received the e-mail early Monday morning, the day after an arrest warrant was issued for him in the killing of Donna Kristofak. She was found unresponsive Saturday morning at her home near Walton High School and later died at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, but Cobb Police have not indicated how she was murdered. East Cobb Murder Suspect Issued Threats

John Kristofak sent his former wife threatening e-mails in March before serving jail time for stalking her.

The East Cobb man still wanted in the death of his ex-wife over the weekend sent threatening e-mails to her earlier this year, shortly before he was jailed for stalking her, police said. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, John Kristofak sent several e-mails to Donna Kristofak between March 9 and 19 threatening to harm and even kill her. The newspaper reported Monday the harrowing details of an arrest warrant issued for him on March 28. Kristofak was arrested the following day for aggravated stalking after an incident involving her at a Wal-Mart parking lot, according to the AJC report. Cobb Police say John Kristofak is at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

An East Cobb woman died Saturday after being attacked in her home, and Cobb Police have issued a murder warrant for her ex-husband. Cobb Police Spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said Donna Nations Kristofak, 48, died after being taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. John Stephen Kristofak, 58, is wanted for murder and aggravated assault, and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. The suspect was last seen driving a brown Chevrolet Equinox bearing Georgia tag BUV 2635, according to police.
