2 Critically Hurt in Franklin Road Accident

Marietta Police say the driver of a car and a pedestrian are in serious condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital

The driver of a sedan that veered onto a sidewalk on Franklin Road Monday afternoon and a pedestrian the vehicle struck are both in critical condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta Police said. Moses Katta, 50, of Marietta, was headed southbound on Franklin Road near Twin Brooks Drive around 3:30 p.m. Monday when his 1994 Nissan Sentra left the road and onto a sidewalk, hitting Jasmine Harper, 18, also of Marietta, according to police. Police indicated the cause of the accident is unknown, but may have been medically related. Traffic on one of the southbound lanes of Franklin Road was blocked for a time on Monday afternoon as police continued the investgation.  Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call …

Teen Suspected in Cobb Burglaries

Marietta police think Cory Cannon, arrested on Friday in the Franklin Road area, may be responsible for similar incidents.

A 17-year-old arrested for burglary on Friday in the Franklin Road area may be a suspect in other burglaries in Cobb.  The Marietta Daily Journal reported Wednesday that Marietta Police Department investigators have described Cory Jaleel Cannon as "a person of interest" in other burglaries in Marietta and Cobb. The story said police did not detail how many incidents may be involved, only that "additional charges are pending." WSB-TV reported that Cannon is a suspect in at least one burglary committed last September, but did not indicate where that incident took place.
