From a press release issued by Good Mews: Good Mews will be holding its Annual Spring Flea market on weekends beginning Friday, April 12 and running through Sunday, May 12. Sale dates include Fridays for the first and last weekends only. Saturday hours are 9-5 (same for the Friday dates) and Sundays from Noon-5pm. New merchandise will be on display each weekend! Visit our NEW, BIGGER and BETTER LOCATION in the Piedmont Commons (Publix) Shopping Center, 1050 E. Piedmont Road, Marietta, 30062 (at the intersection of Roswell Rd and E. Piedmont Rd). Good Mews is seeking donated retail space in the Marietta area for its annual Spring Flea Market. The Spring Flea Market is the East Cobb organization's largest fundraiser and obtaining donated space means more money for the kitties. At minimum, Good Mews is looking for 2,800+ square feet for the 3-month period of March, April and May. Good Mews, the East Cobb no-kill cat shelter, needs your help in a competition that could earn the nonprofit a $50,000 professionally produced video. Atlanta production house Encylcomedia is offering to produce a video for one of three worthy nonprofit organizations that garner the most votes in an online poll. A Good Mews volunteer noticed the contest and the shelter quickly became one of 27 nonprofits competing for the top three spots in the voting. Winning the contest is crucial for Good Mews, which is looking for avenues to finance the renovations of building planned to be used as their new cat shelter starting next year. If you want to help the Good Mews foundation this month, there is a variety of ways to do so. This coming Saturday, July 14, the East Cobb cat shelter is having a shredding and recycling event. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., bring old newspapers, documents, magazines, aluminum cans, and printer cartridges to the parking lot of the Good Mews facility, located at 736 Johnson Ferry Road, in the Olde Towne Shopping Center. A $20 minimum per-car donation is asked to be made to Good Mews, which is being assisted at the event by Iron Mountain, an Atlanta-based records management and secure shredding and paper disposal company.
