Taste of Marietta: What to Know Before You Go

On Sunday, Taste of Marietta is celebrating its 21st year. The weather should be great, so come join the fun for the best food and entertainment event this side of the Mason-Dixon line.

The Taste of Marietta is a fun way to sample a variety of Cobb County’s restaurants, as well as experience Marietta’s history, culture and shopping.

On Sunday, Taste of Marietta is celebrating its 21st year! The weather should be great, so come join the fun for the best food and entertainment event this side of the Mason-Dixon line.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and admission is free. Here's what you need to know before you go:

What is the Taste of Marietta?
Taste of Marietta is an annual food festival always held the last Sunday in April that showcases Cobb County restaurants and caterers. It is the largest and longest running food festival in Cobb County and has become a favorite annual tradition among local residents.  Taste of Marietta is a rain or shine event.

Where does Taste of Marietta take place? 
Taste of Marietta is held in the heart of the city at the Historic Marietta Square. The Square in the spring is a beautiful backdrop for the festival. While enjoying the delicious food and fun, you can also experience Marietta’s history and culture with unique shops and museums

How much does it cost to attend Taste of Marietta? 
Admission to the festival is FREE. The only costs are the cost of food and drinks and the moonwalks in Kids Alley.

Do I have to buy tickets for food? 
No. Unlike other food festivals, Taste of Marietta is a cash-based festival. You pay the individual restaurant booths for their ‘tastes’ (between $0.50-$5.00) and for drinks at the concession stations.

Will there be ATMs on site? 
Yes! ATMs will be provided in four separate locations around the festival.

How many people attend Taste of Marietta? 
Last year we had an impressive 100,000+ people attend Taste of Marietta. We are expecting a great crowd again this year.

Can I bring my dog to Taste of Marietta? 
We request that folks with dogs and other pets please leave them at home where there is adequate shade and water. There is not a place on the festival grounds to accommodate pets. They can leave waste and many young children are frightened around dogs of any size. Thank you for your cooperation!

How many restaurants will be at Taste of Marietta? 
We expect to have 75 different restaurants, caterers, and food trucks to be at Taste of Marietta showcasing their best dishes.

Besides food, what else is at Taste of Marietta? 
Lots! We will have all day entertainment on four different stages around the festival; fun and games at Kids Alley; and a variety of ways to test your skills at Sports Corner. In addition to these festival attractions are the unique shops and museums always present on the Marietta Square.

Who organizes Taste of Marietta? 
Taste of Marietta is a project of the Marietta Visitors Bureau in conjunction with the City of Marietta.

What is Kid’s Alley?
Kid’s Alley is the area of Taste of Marietta where kids can be themselves and have fun! There will be multiple moonwalks and games, sand art, face painting and more! Moonwalks and some activities will have a nominal fee.

What is Sports Corner? 
Sports Corner is where you can test your skills and mingle with some of Atlanta’s finest sports teams and mascots.

What roads will be closed for Taste of Marietta? 
North, East, West and South Park Square will be closed. In addition, Whitlock Avenue and Mill Street will be closed at the railroad tracks. Church and Cherokee Streets will be closed at Hansell Street. Roswell and Lawrence Streets will be closed at Waddell Street. Also, a one-way portion of Powder Springs Road located directly off the Square will be closed as well as a portion of Atlanta Road leading into the Square.

Where do I park for Taste of Marietta? 
The Cobb County Parking Deck, all county court lots and the Mill Street lot will be available for parking. The parking deck will be free that day; you can enter off Waddell Street. The Mill Street lot is also free. The county court lots are individually owned and parking fees may be applicable.

You can also park at Marietta Middle School and be shuttled to the Square by the Historic Marietta Trolley. The Trolley Shuttle will operate between the Middle School lot and drop off on Mill Street. The Trolley Shuttle will be free that day and will run from 1pm-7:30pm.

Please note, parking is not allowed at church parking lots around the Square.

Where are restrooms located at Taste of Marietta? 
Public restrooms are located at the Marietta Welcome Center & Visitors Bureau in the old train depot building. There will be portable restroom and hand washing facilities on Mill Street, Root Street, Lawrence Street and at the corner of Roswell Street and East Park Square.
