Lassiter Marks 'GO' Day

The school community participated in last week's blood drive to honor victims of a recent car crash.

was in full swing on Thursday for the annual GO Day as students and parents arrived on campus to get ready for the new school year.

The school community partnering with the American Red Cross with a community blood drive to remember Ryan Aschenbach and honor Chris Heitzman.

Aschenbach, a recent Lassiter graduate, was killed and Heitzman, a Lassiter student, was seriously injured in July.

Lassiter also recently teamed with Menchies for additional blood drives in honor of the Aschenbach and Heitzman families.

For each donor who gave blood, a “Thinking of You” card will be delivered to both families. The Lassiter community collected a total of 62 pints of blood. One pint of blood can save up to three lives, so Trojan Nation potentially saved up to 186 lives.

I'll be there; rabbi Alper should be good (his You Tube videos are entertaining). CongratulationsRead More to Henry Hene and the Habitat coalition for doing such wonderful work and promoting "We Build to Coexist, We Coexist to Build." Congratulations to Addie and Harvey Schneider -- both are the definition of mensch.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
