Happy 4th of July East Cobb!

No matter how you're celebrating Independence Day, please enjoy, stay cool and be safe!

America's national birthday is a time for celebration and reflection of the origins that led to the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War and the birth of an idea that endures, after 236 years.

It's a day for family, food, friends, the Peachtree Road Race, parades and fireworks, among other things.

At East Cobb Patch we'd like to wish all of our readers and the entire community a very happy 4th of July! No matter how you're celebrating, please be safe and stay cool on this special day.

It's a pleasure to serve all of you every day with a mix of news, information, events and conversation about what matters to you.

So thanks for reading and being a part of what we're trying to do.

We've rounded up some links of things to do, what to cook and ideas for marking this day, in case you need them.

We'll return on Thursday with a full slate of articles and other news to help you get ready for the loooong holiday weekend and enjoy the summer.

I'll be there; rabbi Alper should be good (his You Tube videos are entertaining). CongratulationsRead More to Henry Hene and the Habitat coalition for doing such wonderful work and promoting "We Build to Coexist, We Coexist to Build." Congratulations to Addie and Harvey Schneider -- both are the definition of mensch.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
