Wheeler Pulls Away from Meadowcreek

The Wildcats had a big second half Friday to hand the Norcross school its 31st consecutive defeat.

For as long as has struggled on the football field, Meadowcreek has suffered even longer. 

When the Norcross school put Wheeler on the schedule in early September, it also designated the Wildcats' visit as its homecoming game.

But after a sluggish first half Friday, Wheeler got untracked and rolled to a 26-0 win. Jamal Bryant came up big with most of his 90 rushing yards and a touchdown.

It was the first victory for the Wildcats since early in the 2010 season and came just a week after a painful last-second loss at South Cobb.  

For the Mustangs, this was their 31st consecutive loss.

Wheeler, now 1-2 on the season, returns home next week to play Centennial.
