Walton cruised to a 79-51 win over South Fort Myers this morning, the Naples Daily News reports.

Sean Morgan scored 17 points to lead 12 Raiders who had points.

Walton's next game will be at 9:15 Wednesday night against the winner of this afternoon's game between Gulf Coast and Cardinal Gibbons.

boys and girls are hitting the courts this morning as the second wave of holiday basketball tournaments kicks off around the Southeast for East Cobb teams.

The Raiders open the 16th annual Gulfshore Shootout in Naples, FL, at 9 a.m. against South Fort Myers (FL). Golden Gate High is the tournament host.

The tournament gained a national reputation, then became more of a local event for economic reasons, but it is bouncing back with Walton and three other out-of-state teams in the 16-school field of what is officially the Winged Foot Scholarship Foundation Gulfshore Shootout presented by the Naples Daily News, the Daily News reported.

At the same time the Raiders are taking the floor in South Florida, the Pope Lady Greyhounds will tip off the eight-team Westminster Holiday Classic against .

As the name implies, the tournament’s host is Buckhead’s .

What holiday tournament are you most looking forward to?

The Pope boys and the Walton girls will start their holiday action Wednesday in Smyrna, where both are competing in the Holiday Classic.

Both teams open the tournament against Green Forest—the Lady Raiders at 1 p.m. and the Greyhounds at 5:30.

girls are playing in the Pickens Holiday Classic at Pickens High in Jasper today through Thursday.

The Lady Wildcats’ website says they start play at 3 p.m. against , but Cartersville’s website says the Lady Canes play at that time against .

Wheeler’s boys open holiday play Wednesday in the most prestigious tournament for any local team, the newly renamed HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational in Raleigh, NC.

The Wildcats start the tournament against a North Carolina team, Kinston, at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday.
