Walton, Pope Bring Home Tennis Titles

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in East Cobb Patch on May 9.

The biggest news form the weekend revolves around state championship tennis, as the boys won the Georgia High School Association AAAA state tennis tournament and the girls won the GHSA AAAAA state tennis tournament.

Pope blanked Starr’s Mill in the semifinals and took down McIntosh, 3-2, to win the state crown.

The Walton Lady Raiders beat Tift County, 3-0, then blanked Norcross, 3-0, to win their eighth consecutive state crown and 147th match in a row.
