Walton Football in 7x7 Tourney
The Raiders will be one of more than two dozen teams taking part at Kennesaw State.
The summer break for some players on the Walton High School football team will be interrupted in July.
A selected number of Raiders will take part in a 7-on-7 passing tournament at Kennesaw State University July 10-12.
The Marietta Daily Journal reported Friday that Walton is one of 27 high school teams in Georgia that will be participating in the event, which emphasizes offensive skill plays.
Also participating are Kell, McEachern and North Cobb Christian from Cobb County.
Walton will participate once again the 2013 Corky Kell Classic on Aug. 24 at the Georgia Dome.
The MDJ also reported this week that Walton coach Rocky Hidalgo will coach in a new statewide all-star game featuring juniors at McEachern at the end of the season.
The Georgia Elite Junior Classic will take place on Dec. 28.
