Walton Athletic Director Departing

Christian Suttle has been named the new principal at Hillgrove High School.

After another stellar sports season, Walton High School will be looking for a new athletic director and assistant principal.

Christian Suttle will be leaving after nearly a decade at the East Cobb school to become the principal at Hillgrove High School in West Cobb.

His appointment was approved by the Cobb Board of Education on Thursday.

Suttle, who has been Walton's athletic director since 2007, also coached track and field and has served on the executive board of the Georgia High School Association.

His last season at the helm at Walton concluded with the Raiders' athletic program winning the Class AAAAAA Georgia Athletic Directors Association Directors' Cup, which goes to the school with the best overall sports program.

It was the fourth time Walton earned the designation during Suttle's tenure.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Suttle graduated from Miles College in the same city and is a member of its Sports Hall of Fame.
