Top-Ranked Walton Volleyball Rolling
The 3-time defending state champions are undefeated, and Pope and Lassiter are starting strong as well.
In four matches this season, the Walton volleyball team is picking up where it left off a year ago.
The Lady Raiders, ranked No. 1, have won all four matches and haven't dropped a game in any of them, including second-ranked Harrison on Saturday. Walton defeated Harrison in the 2012 state finals.
Walton is seeking its fourth consecutive state title in Class 6A, and on Thursday plays host to North Cobb at 7 p.m.
The Lassiter volleyball team is 5-1 on the season, dropping its last match on Saturday to No. 9 Roswell. The Lady Trojans have a home doubleheader on Thursday, facing Norcross at 5 and Lambert at 7.
In Class 5A, Pope is ranked No. 5, and is 6-1 on the season. The Lady Greyhounds have a doubleheader Thursday at Blessed Trinity that also includes Holy Innocents.'
Wheeler is on the road Thursday, facing St. Pius X and Westminster, and Sprayberry is home on Thursday against Mt. Paran Christian.
