Pope Softball Eliminated by Loss

softball team lost the decisive Game 3 of its second-round Georgia High School Association AAAA playoff series against Northwest Whitfield, 3-1, to end its season Friday.

The Lady Greyhounds managed only one hit during the road game, the Dalton Daily Citizen reported.

Pope , winning the opener, 4-3, but losing Game 2, 9-1.

While Northwest Whitfield advanced to the eight-team, double-elimination championship tournament in Columbus, starting Thursday, Pope ended its season with a 25-8-1 record, according to Georgia Prep Country.
