Region 5-AAAAAA Basketball Tips Off

The Lassiter, Walton and Wheeler boys and girls teams are competing at Roswell High School this week.

No East Cobb-area teams are scheduled for the first day of the Region 5-AAAAAA basketball tournament that gets underway tonight. But all three girls teams will be in action Tuesday with spots in the Georgia High School Association state tournament on the line.

Teams reaching the region semifinals will automatically advance to the state tournament.

The boys get underway on Wednesday, with Wheeler as the top seed.
