Pope Blanked by Tri-Cities
The Greyhounds exited the GHSA AAAA state playoffs with a second-round loss.
had trouble Friday night at home against a punishing Tri-Cities defense, according to the Marietta Daily Journal, and lost 35-0 to exit the GHSA AAAA State Football Championships.
At 10-2, enjoyed its best season on record but could muster only 58 yards of offense against Tri-Cities. In their previous two games the Greyhounds scored 52 and 49 points, respectively.
Tri-Cities contained Pope's two main weapons, quarterback Holland Frost and wide receiver Myles Everett. Frost was just 3 for 12 for 15 yards and two interceptions, and Everett caught just one pass.

The loss was disappointing, but Pope did register its first 10-win season and reached the second round of the playoffs for the third time in school history.
