Lassiter Plays Host to 7on7 Football
Walton, Wheeler and Kell are also among the 32 high school teams competing this weekend.
The Georgia 7on7 Invitational returns to Lassiter High School Friday and Saturday, and the Trojans are one of four teams from the East Cobb area participating in the 32-team event.
Walton, Wheeler and Kell also will be competing in a field that is heavy on metro Atlanta schools. The event is a qualifier for the National 7on7 championships in Hoover, Ala.
The other Georgia teams include: Alpharetta, Cartersville, Centennial, Cherokee, Duluth, Dutchtown, Eagles Landing, Flowery Branch, Hillgrove, Jackson Co., Jefferson, Jonesboro, Lovejoy, Mays, North Cobb, North Gwinnett, Northview, Rabun Co., Shaw, Shiloh, South Forsyth and Westminster.
The format, which begins with pool play and then goes to a double-elimination phase, is designed to help sharpen offensive skills as high school teams are preparing for pre-season practice.
Lassiter is located at 2601 Shallowford Road in Northeast Cobb. Some games will be played Saturday morning at Kell High School, 4770 Lee Waters Road, also in Northeast Cobb.
