Kell's Dream Season Ends in Semifinals

The Longhorns were no match for Creekside.

Turnovers plagued the Kell football team on Friday as the Longhorns' chances for winning a state championship were washed away on a rainy night.

Their 55-10 loss to Creekside in the Class AAAAA semifinals was their first of the season, and it left them a game short of the championship round this coming weekend at the Georgia Dome.

The season will go down as the best ever for Kell (13-1), but as coach Derek Cook told the MDJ, "I hate that we couldn’t finish it in the Dome.”

In a game played at Fairburn, host Creekside (14-0) scored four touchdowns off Kell's five turnovers, and held the Longhorns to only four yards in the second quarter.
