Friday Football Preview: Wheeler, Walton Tangle
Wheeler travels to Walton while Pope heads over to East Paulding to take on the giant of Region 4N-AAAA play. Walker is on the road as well.
Wheeler (3-5, 1-2) at Walton (7-0, 3-0) – After winning three of four games in September, has fallen back to earth with two losses. The going gets no easier tonight when the Wildcats travel to , Georgia’s eighth-ranked 5A team. The Raiders are perfect on the season and have won their last five games by an average margin of victory of 32 points.
Pope (6-1, 3-1) at East Paulding (7-0, 4-0) – has settled down after dropping a Sept. 30 game to Kell, but now must travel to East Paulding and play Georgia’s fourth-ranked 4A team. Pope is tied with Kell for second place in Region 5N-AAAA play and needs a win to keep pace. That win will come tough against a team that has allowed just four points per game, on average, this season.
Walker (2-5, 1-3) at Mount Paran Christian (5-2, 3-1) – Walker has lost three Region 6-A games in a row and it gets no easier tonight when the team travels to Mount Paran Christian, a team that’s giving up a Region 6-A best 12 points per game.
