Friday Football Preview

Pope, Wheeler and Walker all begin the 2011 football season tonight.

The 2011 football season is finally here. There has been a spattering of games throughout the area, but tonight is the night where most of the football teams kick off.

Here's what's on the slate for schools in the East Cobb Patch:

Pope (0-0) at Wheeler (0-0) – won its first game in three years in 2010, so while the program may be a few years away from competing in Region 5-AAAAA play, there is definitely momentum to build from. returned to the playoffs after 10 years in 2010 behind quarterback Holland Frost who accumulated more than 3,000 multi-purpose yards.
