East Cobb Students Are Show Stoppers

Six schools will be represented in the April 21 finals of a Sandy Springs talent contest.

Several East Cobb students have earned finalist spots in Show Stoppers, an Atlanta-wide talent competition that is part of the annual ArtSSprings celebration of the arts in Sandy Springs. 

This year's event is coordinated by Act3 Productions. High school  students participating are Tara Folio, Kalli Hicks, Katie Hollenshead, Ian Kelso, Kristen Rary and Katie Weinstein, all from . 

JoJo Stein of and Claire Perry, from , are also finalists. Local elementary school students competing include Julie Isaacson, Shallowford Falls Elementary; Jordan Harmon, and Ella Kolpakov of Garrison Mill Elementary.

The students will compete in the finals on April 21 at 4 p.m. (K-7th grades) and 8 p.m. (8th-12th grades) at the Church of the Redeemer, 5185 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Sandy Springs. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors, $15 for adults and $25 for priority seating.  

Judges for the event are some of the best known names in Atlanta entertainment: Jan Smith, vocal coach for Justin Bieber, Usher, The Band Perry and more; Lisa Rosmond, vocal coach to young Broadway and Disney artists; Jody Feldman, Associate Producer and casting director for the Alliance Theatre; and Jaspar Cameron, songwriter/producer for artists such as Christina Aguilera and Ciara.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
