East Cobb Soccer Coach Mourned

Jay Ingram, who died Friday after being hit by a car, was a fixture at the North Atlanta Soccer Association.

Two visitations will be held Monday for Jay Ingram, a longtime coach with the East Cobb-based North Atlanta Soccer Association

Ingram after being struck by a car while jogging near his Kennesaw home. 

The visitations will take place from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw.

Ingram's funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Living Hope Lutheran Church, 3450 Stilesboro Road, Kennesaw. The service will be outside due to an expected heavy turnout.

Ingram, who was 32, most recently coached a NASA Under-12 girls Academy team at the organization's Metro Park facilities on Paper Mill Road. According to his NASA bio page, Ingram had been a coach with the organization since 2002.

In a report on , Ingram was remembered for his easy-going, fun-loving nature and his Mohawk haircuts.

He was a coach and teacher at the Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy. Ingram, who was married, leaves behind two children.

Friends and community members have begun a bank account to assist his family. Donations may be made at any Bank of America branch in the name of the Jay Ingram Family Benefit Contribution Account.
