Braves Call Up Walker School Grad

David Hale has been pitching for Gwinnett in the minor leagues this season.

With the Atlanta Braves cruising to the National League East title, they're giving some minor league prospects a closer look in September.

The latest, pitcher David Hale, is from The Walker School in East Cobb. He was called up Thursday after going 6-9 for Gwinnett, the Braves' top minor league team.

Hale is a 2006 Walker graduate and was inducted in the school's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011. He was drafted in the third round of the entry draft by the Braves in 2009 after playing and studying economics at Princeton University.

Hale will join the Braves in time for their weekend series in Philadelphia that starts on Friday.
