Wheeler Tops Scholarship List

Five students from the East Cobb school have been named semifinalists in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.

Five students from have reached the semifinal round of the National Achievement Scholarship Program

Oluwatobi Akindoju, Avery Brown, Richard Eboka, Amari El-Amin and Travis Redmond are among the 1,600 students nationwide competing for college scholarship assistance. 

The NAS program, which is part of the National Merit Scholarship program, is designed to encourage African-American student accomplishment.

Also reaching the semifinals are Johnathan Ebhogiaye and Kamaria Laing of and Shane Geller of . 

The winning recipients will be announced in April.
