Walton Reaches Lacrosse Finals with Late Winner

Raiders down Northview with goal in final seconds, advance to play Harrison in Class AAAAA championship game.

The defeated the Northview Titans in a GHSA Class AAAAA lacrosse semifinal game on Wednesday by the score of 7-6.

The Raiders led the Titans, 4-3, at the half, but allowed Northview to take a 5-4 lead late in the third period before tying the game at 5-5 with one second remaining in the third.

Both teams scored once in the fourth quarter to knot the score at six. Overtime looked imminent until Walton's Tyler Poole put a behind-the-back shot into Northview's goal with 14.7 seconds remaining to win the game for the Raiders.

Walton will play Harrison in the Class AAAAA boys lacrosse championship on Saturday.
