Tritt Elementary School third-grader Eli Medof has begun a drive to help students of an East Rockaway, N.Y., school that was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

After watching footage of the storm damage on the news, he alerted the Tritt Student Council about the needs of the school on Long Island. The East Rockaway students are sharing space at a nearby school, with some classes having as many as 50 students.

The Tritt Student Council is sponsoring a campaign to help the East Rockaway school students who have been displaced. Eli and his mother put together this video as part of their appeal.
