Why Go: Some of the nation's largest mortgage companies will be on hand to work one-on-one with homeowners who are struggling to make their mortgage payments or facing foreclosure.

SATURDAY

Christopher Heitzman Benefit 5K Run

When: 7:30 a.m. Saturday

Where: Lassiter High School, 2601 Shallowford Rd., Marietta | 

Why Go: Help raise money for the medical expenses of Heitzman, a Lassiter High graduate who was seriously injured in July in a car accident.

Price: Pre-registration for the run is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the race.

KSU Annual Art Faculty Exhibition

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: Kennesaw State University, 1000 Chastain Rd. NW, Kennesaw | Get directions 

Why Go: The exhibit showcases the work of local artists who are on the faculty at the KSU School of Art and Design. 

Price: Free

5th Annual Allatoona Buccaneer Baseball Silent Auction

When: 6 p.m. Saturday

Where: Allatoona High School, 3300 Dallas Acworth Hwy. NW, Acworth | Get directions 

Why Go: Weekend getaways, airline tickets and gift certificates to Atlanta restaurants are up for grabs. All proceeds benefit Allatoona's baseball program.
