Girls Exploring New Ideas Using Science (GENIUS) attended the super regional competition Jan. 14 at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) with their designed 'The Cool Factor' alarm system for coolers.

The Cool Factor alerts you when the temperature in your cooler becomes too high to be safe for food. The device was judged at Saturday's SPSU competition.
