Readers' Choice: East Cobb Preschools

With so many excellent places to start your child's education, which one do you like the best?

Preschools of all kinds abound in East Cobb, from independent facilities to those connected to religious institutions to the Montessori program.

For this week's Readers' Choice, we're looking for your favorite preschool.

We've selected the following establishments and an accompanying poll. If you don't see yours, tell us about it in the comments section, and we'll add it.

We'll take into account the poll results plus the reviews of preschools on their Patch Places pages (just click on the business name above to go to a page and review it) and positive comments in the section below.

You have until 9 a.m. Friday to vote and add your reviews, and we'll announce the winner at noon Friday.

If your child goes to preschool near East Cobb, you might want to help choose the winner for or Marietta Patch as well or instead.

Next week, we'll ask for your choice for the best place to get sweet tea.

The Wood Acres School has a very strong preschool program and has for more than 35 years. We are very happy with how their program has prepared our oldest child for Kindergarten. We applied for our youngest to begin the preschool program next year. Great school.

The JCC Sunshine School at Temple Kol Emeth is the BEST!!! They have the best staff and it is the most loving, nurturing environment! They have an amazing curriculum and they have created the best developmentally appropriate learning environment! We love the Sunshine School!

I'm sure that there are a lot of great pre-k's but the JCC Sunshine school at Temple Kol Emeth is just the best. It's All about the people. The staff is absolutely the best!! And the atmospher is so welcoming, warm and nurturing. Two of my kids learned there and if I would have needed to register another kid to pre-k, I would register him again to this school with no hesitations.

Where is KidsRKids Johnson Ferry?? My kids went there, and were over-prepared for Kindergarten, are well-socialized, and play well with everyone. The teachers and admin there are top-notch and I would recommend them to anyone.

Primrose school at East Lake had a great impact on my grandsons early years and mine as a new grandparent. From the sign language and music programs in the infant class to the technology, science and art in the older classes. This Primrose team wonderful!

Not only Have I worked for Primrose at East Lake since 1997, but my son has attended the school from the infant room and on through Pre-k. It's an awesome, loving and professional work facility and has offered the best character developement program, hands on learning, nurturing, warm and happy second home for my son to thrive at each and everyday!

We love this daycare. I moved my 2 year old, now 3, to this school in July. My daughter has learned so much more in the short time that she has been here, than the entire time at the other school. The staff, teachers and admin are very professional while being kind and sweet with the kids. We love Ms. Hutchins!

My three daughters all went through the preschool at congregation Etz Chaim and have thrived in elementary school. Not only does their program prepare the kids for kindergarten but it does so in a nurturing and hands on environment. This is a hands on education where the kids learn without even realizing it. The staff is phenomenal under the leadership of the director Debbie Deutsch. This preschool is top notch!

Temple Kol Emeth's Sunshine pre School is fantastic!

We were very excited to sign up our son at East Cobb Prep after spending the first few years at home with me. After only 4 days, they arranged a big meeting with the entire upper staff to tell us they may not be a good "fit" for our son and he may have "issues". He hasn't hurt anyone or himself, and his biggest issue is that he can't "follow the directions of the classroom". No matter that he's never been in a classroom environment before and is only 3 years old. It seems they jump to negative conclusions and don't want to work to assimilate new kids to a new environment. They expect all kids to know the routines from day one and can't deal with any outliers. Very, very disappointing.
