Principal Appointments on Board Agenda

Timber Ridge Elementary and Dodgen Middle School will be getting new leaders.

The Cobb Board of Education is expected to appoint new principals for two East Cobb schools on Thursday.

The appointments for Timber Ridge Elementary School and Dodgen Middle School are on the board's agenda for its regular business meeting.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the board room of the Cobb County School District central office, 514 Glover Street, Marietta.

The East Cobb principal vacancies were created when Tracie Doe of Timber Ridge and Robin Lattizori were promoted to area assistant superintendents in July.

Lattizori will be staying in East Cobb, supervising Area 3, which includes the Lassiter, Pope, Walton and Wheeler high school districts.

Last week, the school board named Sope Creek Elementary assistant principal Jessica Appleyard the new principal at Mt. Bethel Elementary

Also at Thursday's meeting, the school board will formally recognize Cathy Zingler of Lassiter High School and Tracie Bucy of Rocky Mount Elementary, finalists for Cobb teacher of the year.

The overall winner was Rhonda Lokey of Campbell Middle School.
