Pope Senior Receives Stamps Fellowship

Krystal Lo will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall.

Krystal Winnie Lo, a senior at Pope High School, has chosen to enroll at the University of Georgia as a Stamps Leadership Scholar.

The value of the Stamps Foundation Fellowship for four years at Georgia is approximately $130,000, including enrichment funds for international travel, research internships, and outdoor leadership experiences. Lo was chosen for her leadership, scholarship, perseverance, service and innovation.

The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation supports merit scholarships  at 35 partner universities and colleges across the country. This year, over 500,000 applications were reviewed at these schools for consideration as Stamps  Leadership Scholars. From these applications, approximately 170 students were selected-less than .035% of the applicant pool.

The new recipients join almost 400 Stamps Leadership Scholars and alumni as beneficiaries of these generous merit awards.

At Pope, she was the school's STAR student, a recipient of a National Merit Scholarship and was president of the school's Science National Honor Society and Interact Club. She also was a concertmaster with the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra and president and co-founder of the Pope Chamber Music Society.

At UGA, Lo plans to study accounting and finance.
