Pope Hopes to Eliminate Lithia Springs

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in East Cobb Patch on April 20.

The Pope (13-8, 7-2) baseball team will try to keep Lithia Springs (8-11, 2-7) near the bottom of the Region 5-AAAA standings when the two teams face each other on Wednesday.

With one more loss, the Lions will be officially eliminated from postseason play, which means one thing: if Lithia Springs wants to keep their playoff hopes alive, it's going to have to upset Pope.

Since Pope is tied with Kell atop the standings, the Greyhounds would like to keep winning to obtain a better seed in the upcoming tournament.
