Pope Gunning for No. 1 Seed

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in East Cobb Patch on April 29.

The high school baseball season has been going on for over 10 weeks now, but for most teams it ends Friday.

Pope will be playing in the game of the day in East Cobb Patch. The Greyhounds will be shooting to earn the No. 1 seed out of Region 5-AAAA for next week's state tournament.

If Pope – currently at the top of the region with an 10-2 record – can get past South Paulding on Friday on the road, then the Greyhounds will clinch the No. 1 seed.

However, should Pope slip up in its regular season finale, they could drop all the way to a No. 3 seed.
