College of Continuing and Professional Education will hold a Career Training Expo next week to showcase its professional certificate programs.
The event will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, at the KSU Center. It is free and open to the public.
The College has more than 45 professional certificate programs with instruction offered through online classes and on-site at the KSU Center.
The expo will include a general information session and individual sessions that highlight the College’s major programs. Individual sessions allow prospective students to ask questions of program managers, instructors and even former students about the certificate programs. In addition, special sessions on financial aid are held throughout the evening.
A variety of areas will be highlighted at the Expo, including: Administrative Professional, Bookkeeper Professional, Certified Nursing Assistant, Culinary Apprenticeship, ESL, Foreign Languages, Human Resources, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Interpreter, Medical Office Assistant, Meeting & Event Management, Microsoft Office, Paralegal, Personal Trainer, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy and EKG Technician, Professional Development in Gerontology, Project Management, TESOL and Web Design.
Attendees will receive a 5 percent discount coupon toward their next class. Also, students who enroll during the event will receive a special student gift pack.
Expo goers can also participate in a free class, The WoW! Interview, led by sales professional Jay Litton of Roswell. Litton is the creator of the program which offers job seekers tips on how to exceed the expectations of hiring managers by presenting specifics on how you will add value if you are hired. With more than 32 years of sales and sales management experience, Litton serves as the Executive VP of Sales and Marketing at SA IT Services, a national IT Managed Services company with over 300 employees. There will be three opportunities to hear his presentation at 6:15 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Space is limited, and registration is suggested.
