Lunch and Learn – A Decade of Gold Medal Plants

 

JANUARY 14 – “A DECADE OF GOLD MEDAL PLANTS” – presented by Debra Stockton. Choose these winners to ensure success in your garden. The Georgia Plant Selections Committee and the State Botanical Garden recommend these plants for ornamental beauty, water stewardship and overall resilience in our area.

FEBRUARY 11 – “ROSES” – presented by Bruce Gillett. Roses are a garden favorite.  Learn how to grow healthy and beautiful roses in Georgia. Rose selection, site planning and preparation, and detailed rose care will be covered.

MARCH 11 – “LESSONS LEARNED FROM ENGLISH GARDENS” - presented by Tim Martin - A virtual tour of thirty English gardens with ideas that can be borrowed to take to your own garden. Tim will present designs from ordinary to extraordinary.

APRIL 8 – “PERENNIALS IN HOME GARDENS” – presented by Carmen Cudd. Use perennials in your garden for year-round interest and year-to-year enjoyment. These versatile plants are all easily available to Cobb County gardeners. Learn which works best for our area and which complement each other.

MAY 13 – “NEW USES FOR ORDINARY THINGS IN THE GARDEN” presented by Cathy Lacy and Lisa Bone. Make your own “Garden Art”. Cathy and Lisa will share clever ideas for turning almost anything into a beautiful addition to your garden. Many of their creations will cost only pennies.

JUNE 10 – “BIRDS IN THE BACKYARD” – Add music to your garden. Learn how to attract a wide variety of birds by choosing plants that appeal to specific birds and by providing appropriate nesting and water sources. No matter the size of your garden you can create a “bird-friendly” habitat.
