East Cobb National Merit Scholars Announced
Recipients named for nationwide scholarship program.
Eight students from East Cobb high schools have been awarded National Merit Scholarships by the Evanston, Ill.-based National Merit Scholarship Corp., which announced its nationwide list of scholars today.
Five students from Walton, three from Wheeler and another from Pope are among the nearly 3,000 students from across the country to receive between $500 and $2,500 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution of their choice.
Four of the East Cobb students will be attending Georgia Tech, with the others enrolling at University of Georgia, the University of Alabama, Vanderbilt University and the University of South Florida.
