Dodgen to Hold School Funding Meeting
Principals from several East Cobb schools will be on hand for Tuesday's meeting.
We got word this afternoon that there's another education funding meeting next Tuesday at Dodgen Middle School. It takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Like other school funding meetings in East Cobb in recent months, this one is designed to help parents understand the estimated $79 million Cobb County School District deficit as the Georgia legislature gets underway.
The featured speaker is Claire Suggs, Senior Education Policy Analyst at The Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, who has been on hand at several of the previous East Cobb meetings.
The principals from Dodgen MS, East Side ES, Kincaid ES, Mt. Bethel ES, Murdock ES and Timber Ridge ES will each discuss the impact of the budget shortfalls on their respective schools.
The meeting is free and is open to the public. Dodgen Middle School is located at 1725 Bill Murdock Road.
