Cobb Schools to Be Closed Wednesday

No teachers or other staff will report.

Tuesday's snowy and icy weather prompted the postponement of classes and activities in the Cobb County School District Wednesday.

No district personnel, including non-teaching and non-school staff, will report on Wednesday.

District officials made the announcement shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cobb schools dismissed students two hours early on Tuesday, but there were reports that students were stranded at their schools because of weather-related delays in bus transportation.

A Cobb school district spokesman did not respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.

Some parents took out their concerns, and frustrations, on the Cobb school district's Facebook page

Other school districts in metro Atlanta, including Bartow and Cherokee, either cancelled or suspended bus service because of icy roads and asked parents to come to their child's schools for pickup.

And most of them, like Cobb, have called off classes on Wednesday.
