82 Cobb Rising Juniors and Seniors Selected as Finalists for 2014 Governor's Honors Program
Cobb has the third largest number of 2014 GHP finalists of all Georgia school systems, bested only by Fulton with 91 and Gwinnett with 82.
Eighty-two Cobb County rising eleventh and twelfth graders have been selected as finalists for the 2014 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program. Cobb’s selections are among 691 finalists selected for the program from nearly 3,000 applicants. Since the program is fully funded by the Georgia General Assembly, there is no charge for students to attend.
Students will arrive on the campus of Valdosta State University on Sunday, June 22. For four weeks, students will spend the morning in their major area of nomination, exploring topics not usually found in the regular high school classroom.

During the afternoons, students choose one of the other areas in which to study. The curriculum in all the areas is challenging and engaging. Evenings are filled with seminars, activities, concerts, and performances.
