Walmart Gets OK in East Cobb
The Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 to allow a grocery-only market at Old Canton and Roswell roads.
The passed zoning changes Tuesday in a 5-0 vote that will allow the renovation of a former grocery store to become a Walmart Neighborhood Market in East Cobb.
Despite opposition from some residents who live near the shopping center on the northwest corner of Old Canton and Roswell roads at a hearing this month, no one spoke against the grocery-only Walmart store Tuesday, the Marietta Daily Journal reported.

Walmart attorney David Kirk said the 48,000-square-foot grocery store will employ 75 to 100 people. It will be the third Walmart Neighborhood Market to open next year in Cobb.
