Timber Ridge Bridge Taking Shape

There are plenty of road construction projects in the East Cobb area taking place in the coming week, and here are summaries provided by District 2 Cobb Commissioner Bob Ott and District 3 Cobb Commissioner JoAnn Birrell: 

Timber Ridge Road Sidewalks Construction
Project consists of installing sidewalk on the north side of Timber Ridge Road.  A pedestrian bridge over Timber Ridge Branch is included as part of the project. The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Aug. 10-11. 

• Jacksons Creek Bluff to Lower Roswell Road - Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. The contractor will continue grading, storm drainage, and concrete work. The new pedestrian bridge was set last week.

• Tanbark Place to Blackwell Road - Monday, Aug. 12 through 
  Friday, Aug. 16. Contractor will begin installing erosion control, clearing and begin grading.

• Shallowford Road to Rocky Mountain Road - Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. Contractor will be final grading, installing sod, and utility relocations.

Paper Mill Road Bridge REPLACEMENT – EXPECT DELAYS WITH THE START OF SCHOOL

Paper Mill Road Bridge at Sope Creek is closed through Oct. 25. The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to National Park Service trails. A signed detour route will be provided during construction. 

• Cobb County schools began classes on Aug. 7. Expect extended delays on Lower Roswell Road (detour route) associated with school traffic. Plan for alternate routes during these hours. See attached map.
• Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek  – Saturday, Aug. 10 through Friday, Aug. 16. The contractor will continue work on the new bridge substructure.

Lower Roswell Road Construction

Contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Aug. 10 and 11

• Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list.
• Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. The contractor will continue work at roundabout, installation of storm drainage and grading. Utility relocations should not affect your service. EXPECT DELAYS

Little Willeo Road Sidewalks Construction

The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Aug. 10 and 11

• Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor installs guardrail, works on final grading and places sod.
